Basic Installation Procedures

BASIC WINDOW INSTALLATION: WeatherTite Siding & Windows,
Inc. takes care to ensure your new windows operate properly and look great! The installation methods vary depending on the
type of window installed and the condition of the existing opening.
- The
old window is carefully removed paying attention to your existing trim.
- We inspect the exposed frame and opening for any rotten wood and replace it with new wood as needed.
- Fiberglass or low expansion foam insulation is packed around the new window frame to eliminate wind draft.
- Exterior trim is covered with custom fitted aluminum to complete the maintenance free exterior. The interior
trim is typically not disturbed with a replacement window system.
- The old windows and trim are disposed of at the end of the job.
- We use drop cloths, and shop vacuums during the installation process to minimize the dust and debris.
- Our crews can also install new casings, aprons or stools at the time of your window installation. This is
an optional trim choice for replacement wood or vinyl windows.
- Our crews are factory trained to offer you the highest degree of professionalism and ease of installation.
This also eliminates the risk of an improper installation voiding the manufacturers warranty on your new windows.
Return to top BASIC SIDING INSTALLATION: Many contractors view the installation of siding as purely cosmetic.
We believe that siding systems are your first and last line of defense against harmful weather attacking your home each
and every day.
WeatherTite
Siding & Windows, Inc. takes pride in our method of installation of siding products. Our installation teams
will ensure your home meets all manufacturer guidelines and recommendations.
- If the building has existing siding it may be necessary to remove the siding prior to any new siding
application. Our trained field estimators will inform the homeowner if this is necessary.
- The exterior walls are inspected for rotten or damaged wood, and repairs are made prior to application of
any siding product.
- Tyvek housewrap is used on all applications
where the removal of existing siding is necessary. This stops any wind or water from penetrating through the exterior plywood
into your interior wall.
- We use factory recommended accessory pieces, j-channel, aluminum starter
strip, finish trim, inside and outside corner posts, etc... This keeps the factory warranty valid, and it makes the job look
great.
- We use non-corrosive nails to attach the siding to the wall.
- Vinyl siding is applied by hand without the use of power nail guns. This allows for proper expansion
and contraction. Fibercement siding is applied using both hand and power nail guns according to the manufacturer suggestions
- We use decorative trim block to accent your porch lights,
electrical boxes, and water outlets. Most contractors will simply caulk around these obstacles.
- We offer a full line of maintenance free exterior decorative mouldings to add the finishing touch to your
home remodeling project.
A full labor and material warranty is standard on all of our residential and commercial installed work
